This custom designed HO Scale 3D printed kit contains parts for GS Gondolas as rostered by the Denver & Rio Grande Western (D&RGW) in the 40000 number series. These cars were built in 1908-09, at 36ft long, with a 50 ton rating. Decals and details included are for the Late life of these cars, from 1940 to end-of-life 1960s.

The late modifications to this 36ft gondola:

  • 10 in wooden side extensions with replacement pressed doors

  • Modern dump levers on car ends

  • Replaced AB brakes underneath, with Ajax power brake wheels

The kit does not include paint, trucks, wheels, couplers, or wire grab irons. The coupler pockets are sized for Kadee whisker couplers, and most manufacturers of HO scale Andrews or cast (Bettendorf) style trucks will work. Grab Iron dimples are spaced for Tichy grab irons.
