HO Scale D&RGW 40ft GS Gondola (43k Series) - Late Era

This custom designed HO Scale 3D printed kit contains parts for a GS Gondola as rostered by the Denver & Rio Grande Western (D&RGW) in the 43000 number series. These cars were built in 1912-13, at 40ft long, with a 50 ton rating. Decals and details included are for the late life of these cars, from 1940 to 1960s.

The as-built modifications to this 40ft gondola:

  • Modern style dump levers on car ends

  • Ajax power brake wheel to the KC brake undercar arrangement

Decals provided include 1 of 14 different numbers for easier fleet building.

The kit does not include paint, trucks, wheels, couplers, or wire grab irons. The coupler pockets are sized for Kadee whisker couplers, and most manufacturers of HO scale archbar or Andrews style trucks will work. Grab Iron dimples are spaced for Tichy grab irons.
