HO Scale D&RGW 46ft GS Gondola (72k Series)

This custom designed HO Scale 3D printed kit contains parts for either one or two GS Gondolas as rostered by the Denver & Rio Grande Western (D&RGW) in the 72000 - 73699 number series. These cars were built in 1953-54, at 46ft long, with a 70 ton rating, and were the last GS gondolas purchased by the D&RGW.

This custom designed HO Scale 3D printed kit contains parts for either one or two GS Gondolas as rostered by the Denver & Rio Grande Western (D&RGW) in the 72000 - 73699 number series. These cars were built in 1953-54, at 46ft long, with a 70 ton rating, and were the last GS gondolas purchased by the D&RGW.

Included for EACH car:

(1) 3D printed resin one-piece carbody with AB brakes built-in.

(2) punch-cut styrene coupler pocket covers

(4) Tichy Stirrup Steps (#3047 - 2 right & 2 left hand)

(4) Tichy freight car ladders (#3033)

(4) 2-56 black oxide screws for coupler and truck attachment

(1) Kadee Ajax brakewheel

(1) decal sheet with 1 of 12 possible preset numbers, or additional numbers

(1) 5.25” Lead metal bar for ballast weight

(1) Instruction Sheet

Modelers will need: 70-ton ASF A-3 plain bearing trucks, 33” wheelsets, couplers, paint, & wire for brake rods. Wire Grab versions have grab iron drill points sized for Tichy 24” grab irons (#3053, if available), and will also need 0.010” wire for the brake retainer piping on the B end.
